Portales, NM: Roosevelt County Agricultural Agent, Patrick Kircher, was recently honored with two separate awards for his work with Extension and for the local community.

Kircher, a 15 year agent with the Cooperative Extension Service through New Mexico State University, was awarded through the Outstanding District CES Agent Awards Program. This program seeks to highlight, and reward, Extension professionals for their dedication and work within their community.

Interim CES Director for the Eastern District, Leigh Ann Marez stated, “County Extension agents work long hard ours on behalf of the NMSU Cooperative Extension Service in regard to their respective counties.” Marez continued by saying, “Patrick is truly concerned with developing and delivering pertinent Extension programming that assists area agricultural producers with sustainability and profitability.”

In addition to this award, Kircher also won an award from The National Association of County Agriculture Agents for his work with audio recordings with the “Field and Farm Report” through KSEL Country, and his podcast program. Kircher’s work was chosen above other submissions in this category, and was named as the top in the western region.

Kircher is the second Agent within the Roosevelt County Extension Office to receive an award for outstanding service. Last month, 4-H Agent, Ryan Craig, also received the “Outstanding 4-H Agent” award for the state.
