?Groundbreaking Ceremony for FW3B Pipeline Project
PORTALES, NM – The Eastern New Mexico Water Utility Authority (ENMWUA) is pleased to announce the groundbreaking for the Finished Water 3B (FW3B) Pipeline Project. This milestone event will take place on Thursday September 19, 2024, 10:00 am marking the beginning of a crucial phase in securing a long-term water supply for the Portales community.
The FW3B project is part of a broader effort to ensuring reliable access to clean water for generations to come. This pipeline will connect Portales to the overall Eastern New Mexico Rural Water System (ENMRWS). This 5.7-mile segment of pipeline construction will complete the Portales transmission to the connection point at the City of Portales Lime Street Water Storage Facility.
"Today’s groundbreaking for the FW3B Pipeline is not just the start of a construction project—it’s a promise to the people of Portales and Eastern New Mexico that we are committed to protecting and enhancing our water security. Together, with the help of our partners, we are building a stronger, more resilient water system for generations to come." Michael A. Morris, Chairman, ENMWUA
The FW3B Pipeline is expected to be completed by September 2025. The FW3B project has been funded by United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) Funds, and has received widespread support from local, state, and federal partners.
The ENMWUA has invited members of the community, media, and stakeholders to join us for the groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of this important project. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from key officials and project leaders and learn more about the critical impact of the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water System for our region.
