Providers Begin Seeing Patients Next Week at RGH Clovis Clinic to Promote Disease
Prevention and Improve Overall Health in Curry County

PORTALES, NEW MEXICO, July 5, 2019 – It’s official, RGH Clovis Clinic has received the operator’s
license from the State of New Mexico, and both, Dr. Erika Garcia, MD and Lindsay Young, Certified
Family Nurse Practitioner will begin seeing patients at the Clovis location on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.
The clinic, operated by Roosevelt General Hospital (RGH), is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00
a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. The rural health clinic is located at 2000 W 21st Street in Clovis, NM. Appointments can be made by calling (575) 935-0944.

Although, RGH hosted a ribbon cutting in April for the clinic, the paperwork for the operator’s license has
been granted and services can finally begin. The new clinic offers family medicine services for men,
women and children, including treating illnesses and health conditions, providing preventative healthcare
and screenings, diagnosing new conditions, and managing chronic illnesses. In addition, Dr. Garcia is
specially trained to treat patients with Hepatitis C.

Dr. Garcia has been practicing at RGH Portales Clinic since 2012. She is a native of Clovis and
graduated from Clovis High School. She attended University of New Mexico School of Medicine in
Albuquerque, NM. She is a member of UNM’s ECHO hepatitis program. Dr. Garcia is very excited to
provide health care services in her hometown of Clovis.

Mrs. Young, FNP has been a provider at the RGH Portales Clinic and RGH Melrose Clinic. Ms. Young is
originally from California and received her nurse practitioner training and education at the University of
    New Mexico.

Heart disease, chronic lower respiratory disease, diabetes, influenza and pneumonia are among the
leading causes of death in Curry County─ranking much higher than the states average. “These can all be
well managed by primary care and family practice providers. This is one of our strengths at RGH and a
key reason we wanted to expand our services into the Clovis market,” stated Kaye Green, chief executive
officer at RGH. “Rural health clinics clearly play a key role in preventing disease and improving health.”
RGH Clovis Clinic is a rural health clinic owned and operated by Roosevelt General Hospital (RGH). The
RGH Clovis Clinic is the second rural health care facility managed by RGH; with the first one opening in
    2005 as RGH Portales Clinic.
