• Youth Entrepreneur Fair

    April 16, 2018
Clovis, Portales, and Curry County partners will be conducting a Youth Entrepreneur Fair on Thursday, April 26th 2018 at Clovis Community College in Clovis, NM from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

The Fair is open to youth in Curry, Roosevelt, and De Baca counties, and will feature two divisions: one for Middle School (5th-8th Grades) and another division for high school students. The Fair is an opportunity for students to craft an Investor Fact Sheet with "real world" numbers, to present a table exhibit for their business enterprise, and to compete for cash prizes (investments) offered by an Investment Team. We hope that you will enter the Fair.

Students interested in entering the E-Fair will need to submit an Investor Fact Sheet by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, April 19th, 2018 to Sandra Taylor-Sawyer, 417 Schepps Blvd, Clovis, NM 88101 or sandra.sawyer@clovis.edu

Twenty individual or team entries in each division for the April 26th Fair: Middle School & High School will be accepted.

All students accepted into the Fair will need to create a 6-ft. table exhibit of their business idea (a table will be provided for each contestant or team). After viewing all the exhibits and visiting with the contestants, the Investor Teams will select the top 6 in each division as semi-finalists. These semi-finalists will make a pitch and be interviewed by the Investor Teams (7-10 minutes per semi-finalist). Based on the Investor Fact Sheet scores, table exhibits, pitches, and interviews, the Investor Teams will decide how to invest the prize money pot among the highest scorers from the semi-finalists.

Two business seminars will be part of the Fair for those in attendance.
