• Chamber reschedules Heritage Days for July 16-17

    May 03, 2021
The 2021 Heritage Days celebration, scheduled for June, has been postponed until July 16-17 at City Park in Portales.

“After having to completely cancel the event in 2020 we have been eager to bring the event back in 2021, said Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Karl Terry.

“Unfortunately, the public health order relating to the COVID-19 emergency, which was updated last week, will not allow us to have the event on the usual weekend, Our board felt strongly about just postponing, instead of canceling, since Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s administration believes the state will have sufficient vaccination rates by June 30 to support fully reopening the state.”

The Chamber is planning for all the regular activities that normally take place at Heritage Days. Those include booths, food, entertainment, car show, parade, fun run and street dance. The exception at this time is no indoor booths in the Memorial Building will be allowed. Guidance through the public health order could still create further changes.

We realize some vendors and car show participants may not be able to attend on the new date, therefore anyone who has already paid registration fees can receive a full refund if necessary. If you filled out a free registration, such as a parade entry, please let us know if you need to cancel.

For more information as well as online and printable registration forms see our website at www.portales.com or call the Chamber at (575) 356-8541.
